Artist's Description

Breaking through started off as a basic silhouette exercise. Once the shape was what I wanted, I saw the face pushing through and up as if through a wave. That "wave" is symbolic of whatever barrier may have existed before her.

About Franklin Kielar

Franklin Kielar

The artwork by Franklin depict abstract images rooted in visual storytelling. He developed his skills to sketch characters, concepts, and storyboards; while getting his Bachelors of Science Degree in Computer Animation at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale. That schooling led to his abstract and surreal black and white artwork. With influences such as Walt Disney and Jim Henson, he focused on great stories and artistic skills for film and animation. For ten years he worked on independent film productions; many of which received awards such as the short film "Hope;" and feature film "Ink and Steel." Franklin continues to work on his artwork and films in Upstate New York; where he frequently attends art shows and events.
